now there’s no holding back, I’m making to attack my blood is singing with your voice, I want to pour it out the saints can’t help me now, the ropes have been unbound I hunt for you with bloody feet across the hallow’d ground
like some child possessed, the beast howls in my veins I want to find you tear out all your tenderness
I know this might sound silly, but for the first time in my life (or what I can remember of it), a complete stranger looked at me, smiled at me, and then vanished into thin air. He didn’t want anything from me, he didn’t ask for change, he didn’t say “oh hey, cool tattoo, what does it mean?”, and he didn’t act like a creep.
It happened in the subway. I was sitting in my seat, and he sat across from me. I was very aware of his presence for some reason. I wanted to look at him but I tried not to. I didn’t want to seem like I was staring. Eventually I turned my head slightly and gave into temptation - he was beautiful. He had light eyes, light hair and pouty lips with cheeks that were just a little bit rosy. He looked about my age, if not a little older. He looked at me at the very same moment I looked at him. I smiled, because, why not, and he smiled too. I looked away because I was so shy - I’ve never locked eyes with a stranger before like that. It was so random.
He got off a few stops before me, and as he got up, he looked back at me and smiled. And then he was gone.
I’m not making anything of this, don’t get me wrong. I just feel like it was a scene from a movie. This stuff doesn’t happen in real life.
My heart wouldn’t stop racing for a while after that.
