fuckyeahtattoos: These are my yellow roses, it is my second tattoo. I got it done by the lovely Candy Cane at Lady Luck Tattoo in Weert (the Netherlands).  Why yellow roses? I wanted something to remind me that life is beautiful. That, whatever happens, there’s always something to smile about. Be kind to others, even if they’re not always there for you. Those are the things my grandfather used to live by and it’s also what he taught me. He loved yellow roses, he would have wanted a garden full of them if he could.

fuckyeahgirlswithtattoos: This is my phoenix - the second of my five tattoos and probably my favorite.It is based on Isaiah 61:3, as well as a song that my brother-in-law wrote for me.  Both speak of God trading our ashes in for beauty.  This truth resonates so deeply with me & I think the phoenix is the perfect symbol for beauty being birthed from ashes!Designed & inked by Omar at All-American Tattoo in Salem, Oregon.  His artwork is incredible!  He has inked three of my five tattoos.

”I need you so much closer” —My favorite line from my favorite Death Cab for Cutie song. A tribute to all my friends and family members who I live so far away from now. Also relevant because my boyfriend is moving across country to live for a year. We’ve been together since we were 19, and I love him more than anything. Transatlanticism, one of my favourites. I love this line so much. Beautiful tattoo.
